Description
Lead Game Engineer · Wagr
PocketPool is a real-money 1v1 mobile pool game by Wagr, where players compete head-to-head for cash prizes. It is the flagship of a catalog of 10 head-to-head real-money games I develop as Lead Game Engineer — including Mini Golf, Snow Down, Knock Soccer, Triple Jack, Battle Bucks, Suika, Slither, Kick Clash, and Cash Edge.
Impact
10 head-to-head real-money games live on iOS and Android — 220K+ games and $267K in 1v1 wagers monthly, with active players averaging 26 games each.
What I did
- Develop PocketPool and 9 more 1v1 real-money games in Unity.
- Led a six-to-nine month migration of the live catalog from Mirror to FishNet, moving every title onto client-side prediction and reconciliation.
- Built the physics prediction for real-money pool so a shot resolves identically for both players — including on low-end devices and poor connections, where a mispredicted ball is a disputed payout.
- Built the studio's entire build, deploy, and release infrastructure: web, iOS, and Edgegap server pipelines.
- Integrate matchmaking, wagering, and LiveOps backend services; harden releases with observability and profiling.
Outcome
A growing catalog of skill-based real-money games running on infrastructure I designed end to end — from Unity clients to dedicated servers and release automation.
